Privacy Policy
Effective: April 10, 2026
What this policy covers
MiniAi is a macOS menu bar app that explains selected text using AI. This policy describes what data we collect, what we don't, and how your information is handled.
What we collect
- Selected text — sent to the AI to generate an explanation. It passes through our server but is not stored.
- Anonymous auth token — a Supabase anonymous account is created to track usage limits. No email, name, or personal info is involved.
- Daily usage count — we count how many requests you make per day to enforce free-tier limits. This resets daily.
What we do NOT collect
- Personal information (name, email, location)
- Browsing history or app usage patterns
- Analytics, telemetry, or tracking data
- Cookies on this website
Third-party services
Your selected text is sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate explanations. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that processing. We use Supabase for authentication and usage tracking. No other third-party services receive your data.
Data retention
Selected text is never stored — it's sent to the AI and discarded. Daily usage counts reset every day. Anonymous auth tokens persist until you uninstall the app.
